Dried Premium Shiitake



Premium Shiitake mushrooms (Lentinula edodes) were initially popular in Eastern cuisine, however they are now often utilised in Western dishes too. They add rich and earthy umami flavour, which adds depth and complexity to any dish.


Our shiitake mushrooms are dried whole, which provides you with versatility. Whole mushrooms are often used in soups, whereas slices can be added to stir-fries, pastas and risottos.


To rehydrate, soak in a hot water for 45 minutes. Remove mushrooms and cut off any hard stems, slice if required, and cook thoroughly according to a chosen recipe. To make a flavoursome Asian broth, boil the soaking water with seaweed, vegetable and some soy sauce until the veg is tender.

Note: This product is packed on premises where wild nuts, wild seeds, wild mustard, wild celery, crustaceans & molluscs (present in minute quantities in seaweed) are handled.


Storage Information

Store in a resealable bag provided or an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.


Dry mushrooms can be stored for several years, however we recommend using them within 12 months from opening.
